1414 Nicollet Ave.Minneapolis, MN(612) 872-1111
1532 Wayzata Blvd.Minnetonka, MN(952) 475-1770

It all started at the Minneapolis Farmers' Market, the namesake of the original restaurant. The Farmers' Market is gone now and the restaurant location has moved too. There have been a lot of changes since they first opened, but the quality of the food and customer service at Market Bar-B-Que never changes.

Voted “Best Ribs in Town” by Newsweek Magazine, among others, Market Bar-B-Que has been serving authentic pit smoked ribs for over sixty years. Originally, it was an after hours hangout for actors, comedians, sports personalities and just about anybody who was somebody in the city. Today, you may still run into the occasional celebrity at the legendary Bar-B-Que. Signed photos of those who have visited over the decades line the walls of the restaurant. Their ribs are still smoked in a barbeque pit and important people from all walks of life still stop in to enjoy their food, including you!

Market Bar-B-Que is not another restaurant chain. It's a unique, family owned business located on Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis. Free parking behind the restaurant makes this downtown dining spot very appealing. Reservations are accepted either by calling the restaurant directly or by using Open Table online. The second location, opened in 1985, is located in the western suburbs, right on Wayzata Blvd. in Minnetonka. Both locations serve delicious lunch and dinner selections seven-days-a-week.

The menu item of choice is barbeque ribs that are lean, meaty and flavorful because they're smoked in a real wood burning pit. Other menu choices include roast beef, chicken, pork chops, steak or walleye and super sandwiches. Market Bar-B-Que can also cater events at your location or in one of their restaurants. Ask about customizing your next special event or call-in orders ahead for take-out!

Are you looking for a place to relax and enjoy a drink? Stop in Market Bar-B-Que's bar area and say hello to the friendly bar staff. The first thing you notice at the Minneapolis location is the beautifully hand-crafted bar. The service is great and they take the same care preparing drinks as they do preparing the food. Try a 32 ounce “Big Snort,” or if that's too much, try the “Little Squealer.” Each comes in a souvenir glass. Both locations have a fully stocked bar, televisions and games.

The specialty is obviously the awesome barbecue, but everything at Market Bar-B-Que is prepared with the utmost care. Try the barbecued beef ribs, pork ribs, half chicken, pork chops, shrimp, chicken wings, pulled pork or beef brisket. The food and sauce can also be ordered for carryout or online for next-day delivery through FedEx.
